Ella: Mom, what if my last name was Mentree instead of Jones?
Me: What if?
Ella: Then my name would be Ella Mentree (Elementary). Ha ha ha!

Summer is almost over
Today Tyler needed some quiet time to make lots of phone calls for work & to get started our house. Instead of attempting to keep the girls out of our office (that has no door) & keep them quiet (an impossible task), we decided to go up to Park city with my mom, Trisha, & Emily to shop for school clothes. I can’t believe Ella starts school in 2 weeks! Trisha gave Ella & Cait $5 to spend. They decided to buy a harmonica with the money. Ella LOVES her new harmonica. She plans on profiting from it.
Ella: Mom, I know how I'm going to make some money.
Me: How?
Ella: What if you drop me off on the side of the road, then I put my hat upside down, and people put money in my hat while I play my harmonica? I really hope I can remember all my songs I make up so I can make money with my harmonica when I’m big like you too.

The Parade... er, uh... Park
Emily invited us to a parade tonight. We thought it would be a nice break from work & fun for the girls. There was just one problem when we got there... There really wasn't a parade tonight. It was okay though, we stopped for ice cream and the kids had a great time playing at the park.
Lily loved flying down the slide head first. One time Tyler didn't see her coming & Lily ended up face first with a mouth full of wood chips. She didn't mind though, she just spit out several wood chips & went again.

Cherry Hill

We took an overnight trip to Cherry Hill last weekend. I was having too much fun to take any pictures on Friday, then I was much too tired to take any pictures on Saturday... so I stole this picture off their website. Tyler had to stay home & work. We missed him, but the girls still had fun. Lily decided to stay up all night on Friday. She didn't cry much, she just wanted to play and laugh, squeal, & try to knock down our tent until 5:30 AM. The people in the tent next too us weren't too happy about it.

Friends
I was so lucky last week to see so many friends that I haven’t seen in a long time. First I went to my friend Heather’s baby shower. I worked with Heather at Stampin’ Up! Although we never worked in the same department, it’s was so easy to be friends with her. It was great to see her along with a bunch of co-workers at her shower.
Monday afternoon my friend Dianne brought her 2 cute kids over for lunch. We weren't able to visit long, as we both had a lot of work to get done, but it was fun seeing her again.
Finally, I was able to see some friends from High School, Laura & Kimmi. Tyler, the kids, and I met them at the demolition derby. It was a great show (the kids loved it too), and so fun to catch up. I think I need to get together with old friends more often.
on a side note: I love how nervous the lady in the background of this picture looks. Maybe she’s the wife or mom of one of the drivers?
