Alcohol

Lily: Mom, all the boys at preschool keep bringing Alcohol to school, and they try to get me to drink it, but I won't.

What? kind of party?

Lily: I know what kind of birthday party I want.
Me: What kind.
Lily: A dead/sick party. And you can paint our faces. Like purple around our eyes.
Me: lol. What kind of games would we play at it?
Lily: We wouldn't play games. We would just sit on the couch looking like this.

Happy Birthday to my mom

My mom moved out of her house almost 2 years ago. She, Trisha, & Ryan moved into an apartment for a month, then Trisha bought her house. They moved into Trisha's house while Tyler was building my moms. Trisha's house was too small to fit all their stuff in, so they lived in a crowded mess for almost 2 years. My mom moved into her house in Nov. She didn't finish unpacking because Ryan was still painting everything. He finally finished painting it just before my grandpa passed away last month. My mom still didn't unpack though because she was busy helping Trisha moved all her stuff in this month. Anyhow, she was excited to finally finish unpacking this week, (since she had Spring break off). After 2 years of living in messes & chaos, she was excited to finally get things organized & invite people over to see her cute new house.
Today she woke up to 4 inches of water throughout her basement. Tyler thinks that some areas had up to 10+ inches. Needless to say, her house is a mess again. I feel so bad for her. It got all her furniture & a bunch of boxes that hadn't been unpacked yet. She had just unpacked her favorite books that had been boxed up for 2 years, and it got all those too. Her floors are ruined. :( I wish I could say her day got better, but it got worse. MUCH worse :(
I hope things turn around for her soon. Sorry mom! I don't know why bad things always happen to you on your birthday & mother's day.

Did I mention that when I asked her what she wanted for her birthday... she said she just wanted some help getting her house put together.

Easter Party

Sunday we went to the Jones house for an Easter egg hunt & dinner. Wednesday, the girls got out of school early, so we wen't to my sister-in-law's house to decorate eggs (our first time) & Easter cookies. The girls had fun playing in the tree house that their cousins made.

Eeewww!

Me: Lily, go get your pajamas on, and I'll let you plant some peas.
Lily: But we have to wait for grass to grow first. Right?
Me: No, we plant vegetables in the dirt, not the grass.
Lily: Eeewww, that is Disgusting.

We Moved

It's been a crazy month! Actually it's been a crazy year. Tyler finished building my mom's house, she moved into it. We sold one of our businesses & moved it. Trisha sold all of her stuff at an Estate sell & moved into my moms house. We moved us & our 3 businesses. Crazy.

Happy St. Patricks Day

Last year Lily painted our kitchen table green for St. Patrick's Day. This year she drew a pooping (her words, not mine) leprechaun on herself. The hat goes up her arm over to her chest, and rubbed off onto her face and other arm.
Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Ella & my grandma

Parking Garage Campout

Lily: Mom, remember that funeral we went to with all the cry babies at it?

.......................

Lily: This is a nice parking garage. It's so dark. People might like to sleep here. Can we sleep here tonight? It's so nice and dark.

With the way she's been sleeping the past month, I may take her up on her idea to camp out in a local parking garage... IF she promises to sleep.

Night Owl Baby Shower

It's been a crazy & busy week (as usual). For some reason though, the baby shower I planned this week was completely relaxing and fun. I made the shower favors in-between art classes & late at night. It relaxed me and I enjoyed it very much.
My friend did all the food for the party, so all I had to worry about was the decorations & party favors. Maybe I should go into party planning? I really enjoy making party favors.
Anyhow, it was a fun shower.... and I forgot to take pictures of the new mom to be.

*I know, I spelled advice wrong. It was late last night when I made the book. I realized this morning after the shower started.

Feb. 29, 2012

Yesterday Tyler volunteered to teach 1/2 my art class so that I could run to the hospital to say goodbye to my grandpa. I didn't visit long since I had another class to teach, but I'm glad I got to see him one last time. He passed away not too long after I left.

Most people who knew him would agree that he was the most likeable funny guy around. He was always making us laugh.

He had a lot of energy too. Last year (at age 89) he re-tiled his bathroom floors & fixed the shingles on his roof.

Once, just after Tyler and I got married, we turned on the T.V. The news was on. We immediately recognized my grandpa. He was standing in his yard watering his lawn. A news reporter was interviewing him. The caption near the bottom of the screen said: "John R. Atwood - Water Waster". Tyler and I were laughing so hard watching my grandpa on the news happily watering his lawn with the caption "water waster" below him.

The news anchor was asking my grandpa why he was wasting water during the day. I wish I could remember what my grandpa said, but it was witty, and funny. I do remember the news anchor laughing at his response and commenting that she couldn't argue with his logic.

Goodbye grandpa. We all miss you already!
