I wish I could say that Lily’s body art (shown above) is just her getting into everything as usual... but I'm sorry to say that it just isn't the case. I purposely gave Lily a permanent marker. Tyler and I were attempting to run "construction" errands yesterday, and I just couldn't take her crying any longer. With Tyler's approval I handed a black permanent marker back to her, knowing that she would color on herself & the car. I regret doing so. She obviously colored on herself & the car as I had predicted she would. I don't like that I just taught her that it's okay to color on herself. I had a nightmare last night that she got an ugly tattoo, all because I taught her it was okay.
Please tell me I'm not the only mom who’s done something lame for 4 minutes of peace.
The whole purpose of this blog post is for you to leave your "bad" mom stories (if you have any) below so that I don't feel so bad about mine.
*Note: Lily gave herself that black eye, I just didn't want you all to think I'm the WORST mom ever.

Uh I do something like that almost everyday. Sometimes Brody has candy or fruit snacks for the main part of his meal because he is throwing a tantrum and I don't want to hear it. Or sometimes poor Jaxson has to suffer cuz I make him give Brody whatever he has that Brody is crying for. You are not a bad mom at all!!! I am WAY worse!
This picture of Lily is so sad! Good thing I know how good of a Mom and person you really are. ;)I try to forget all the things I let my kids get away with so I can't think of any right now, but I know for a fact that I am always doing things like this for a few moments of peace!
I leave Jeremy in charge when I need a few min. of peace and that is just as bad as leaving one of the kids in charge. One time while I was in the shower Jeremy let the kids play with laundry detergent (I use let in a loose term, I think he was sleeping). The put it all over their thomas the train track and cars to pretend that it was snowing. I was cleaning up detergent for ever.
i totally do those kinds of things too. i even let charlie play with the cleaners under the kitchen sink sometimes (i make sure they are all sealed) and that's WAY worse than giving your child a marker.
i also don't always stop my kids from climbing onto the countertops and digging through the cabinets for candy. it's a little dangerous, not to mention unhealthy. and speaking of unhealthy, somewhere along the way i started giving charlie soda in a sippy cup to keep him quiet. it's shameful really.
Lily still looks cute even with a black eye and leg scribbles! Everyone knows you're a great mom!
