23 pairs of scissors & a Cupcake cake

One of my callings at church is "Activity Days Leader". We will be cutting hearts at our activity this week, so I started gathering scissors to see if we would have enough, or if I would need the girls to bring their own pair. We have 23 pair of scissors in our house! (those are just the ones I could find.) Plus, that doesn't include exact-o knives, kitchen scissors, rotary cutters, paper cutters, & etc.
I think everyone in our family uses scissors everyday (except Lily). Cutting is one of Ella's favorite things to do. I'm sure Lily will be cutting before we know it. Before she was born, Ella proudly announced several times that she would teach Lily to cut.

We celebrated Ryan's birthday today. Trisha made this cute Cupcake cake for him. I wish I had video taped him blowing out his candles. It was the coolest way I've ever seen anyone blow out candles... Amazing!

Funny, I had to go count my scissors when I read this. We have 31 pairs of scissors, 3 paper cutters, 1 rotary cutter, and 4 pairs of kitchen shears. It is nice to have so many pairs because I use scissors every day too and I always know that I will be able to find a pair.

That really was the coolest way that Ryan blew out his candles and Trisha did an awesome job on that cake! (I am steeling this picture for my blog.)

I love the scissor story! . . . it You must have passed a scissor/crafty/creativity gene to Ella. And what a great calling! I bet they love you!

P.S. Julie mentioned she heard from you and thinks your kids are so amazingly cute. So true!
